Day 1 Part II Dinner, Fishing, and S’more!

As evening set, Grandma and Grandpa prepared a delicious BBQ.

Meggie had two pieces of the first home grown corn of the season
 and then she rested:)
She joined the boys for a swim in the lake

 and fed the ducks.

Meanwhile...
Grandpa announced a contest:  $5 for the first fish caught.  $5 for the largest fist caught and $5 for the most fish caught tonight.

 Meggie won best fish face:)
Brendan caught the first fish and four more.  He also caught the largest fish on his dock but we decided the largest fish on the other dock should win the final prize.

Ryan had the largest fish for awhile (yes, that was it!) until B caught his third.

Jason caught one but Grandpa threw it back before I caught a picture:(
Eric caught the largest on the left dock.

The largest fish of the night.  Sad but true:)

Meggie made the first S’more while the boys cleaned up from fishing.

One of my favorite traditions is the Ring of Fire on the 4th of July.  Each cottage around the lake lights flares across their yard forming a large “ring of fire” around the lake.  Unfortunately, each time I tried to take a picture of the spectacle, my pictures came too dark for any recognition:(

For the next couple of hours, the boys made S’mores by the campfire and watched the ring of fire and fireworks around the lake.

Everyone should sleep well tonight!

Happy Independence Day!!
